Macbeth Soundtrack 1. I Just Can’t Wait to be King- Lion King Act 1 Scene 5 The song I Just Can’t Wait to be King, which appears in the movie The Lion King, is about Simba yearning to be king. This mimics Macbeth’s state of mind after he hears the witches’ three predictions, the last of them being of him becoming a king. As soon as he heard the prediction, he got so enthralled that he didn’t listen to reason, or even question the validity of the witches’. In Act 1 Scene 5, in his letter to Lady Macbeth, he writes â€Å"‘Hail, king that shalt be. This have I thought good to deliver thee, my dearest partner of greatness, that thou might’st not lose the dues of rejoicing, by being ignorant of what greatness is promised thee†(Shakespeare†¦show more content†¦In Act 3 Scene 5, Hectate visits the witches, and scorns them for toying with Macbeth without her. She then tells them that its okay, because she is planning something even bigger and better than what they have. She is planning to trick him with illusions, with using the best weapon, himself. She is playing on his negative traits to make him believe things that will eventually lead to his downfall. He shall spurn fate, scorn death, and bear/ His hopes bove wisdom, grace, and fear./ And you all know, security/ Is mortals chiefest enemy(3.5.30-33). You can compare this type of deceit to he asked for a 13, but they drew a 31 because technically, hes getting what he asked for, just not how he wants it. He wants to know his future, and wants to know that he wont ever be conquered. They tell him that he will not be, unless certain conditions occur. Macbeth you know he doesnt get it anyway since he views these conditions as impossible. 6.
